    Hi everyone,

SNG stands for "Singed New Guy". My first foray into smoking this evening almost ended badly but thankfully the door latch held and the fireball was "somewhat contained". Need to bend the door back so it will seal a little better, and wait for the hair to grow back n my hand and arm before starting again. A pork tenderloin went into the trash, but that the worst of it. I started off reading your forum because the directions to my master built propane were useless, and proved it, but I still need to learn some more.

    Catch you around,

Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
    Keep Smokin!!!

Welcome to the board, Anthony! I would guess that many of us have no hair left on our hands.

Look up your model of smoker and see how people use and modify them.

Welcome Anthoney. You can find any info you need right here. Definitely research your smoker to be sure you're safe before you go at it again. I'm sure there are a lot of people here with your smoker or something similar who can offer you advice. Just provide details so you can get the help you need. Smoking is a passion we all share, but when cooking with gas, safety is the first concern. Good luck and happy smokin', David.

  6. Glad you are OK   really have to be careful with propane.. Here is a funny story (well sort of)   many years ago back when I ran a crane we had just got a new 200 ton in and I was getting it ready for a trip to Idaho. It had a propane heater (Now remember new crane) filled the bottle opened the valve and and started pressing the start button, nothing re-checked everything and started pressing the start button again then

"BOOM' blew me out the door, everybody came running out of the office to see what happened. after I got my senses back and calmed down I started taking the covers off to see what had happened, Once everything was exposed I saw the problem right off !   The line that went from the propane tank to the heater was never connected to the heater. Should have been done and tested at the factory But I guess that part of the QC was overlooked. So from now on I check out everything first. Could have been bad but turned out fine, The guy that was helping said he say me bent over in the door then the boom and I was gone, looked around and saw me on the ground. I tell people "Let me tell you about the time I blew myself up"
