Beautifull shores of Lake Superior
I have oredered from the Spice House several times now over the past few months. Everytime I become more impressed with their superior product and their customer service.
Their spices are top shelf and their blends are very well thought out and produce fantastic flavoring. I soon realized what a quality fresh spice can add to your cooking versus your grocery store shelf products.
I found this Smoky Flavors 4 pack on their web site the other day. This is a new product for them but from my past experience with them I knew I would not be dissapointed so I placed my order.
I received it the other day and before I even opened the box I could smell the fresh spices.
When I opened the box and took out the box that contained the spice bottles and opened it I found this:

I need to work on my picture taking skills but you can see here what I found. The packing material between the bottles are bay leaves. Between the top of the bottles and the box are fresh cinnamon sticks. What a great little addition by the Spice House!
Now as for the blends themselves I haven't tried them but from the aroma coming from each bottle when you open it you can bet I will find and excuse to use them soon.
At the same time I ordered this I orderd a bottle of Tellicherry Black Peppercorns. I opened the bottle from the Spice House along with what I had left in the cupboard of the Tones Peppercorns at the same time and took a deep whiff from both. I won't be using the Tones up I am sure.

All of my store bought spices will be replaced by Spice House products as I go along. I quit buying grocery store paprika awhile ago. The Spice House has some fantastic paprika blends. Smoked, sweet, hot, Spanish, Hungarian etc.
And no, I am not a sales rep for the Spice House

but when I find a company that has a superior product and great customer service I like to pass it along. I realize many of you here are already aware of and purchase from them but there are alot of new folks here so I thought I would bring this up.
Here is a link to the Smoky Flavors four pack that I purchased. You can read all about the 4 different blends here.

They have an extensive web site. You may find yourself clicking around on it for a hour or so. Lots of great recipes to be found there as well.
Enjoy

Hey, thanks for the thread and reminder. I've bought stuff from them before and it was always top notch quality. Running low on paprika, I'll have to go there soon.

Hey John!
Their paprika is great really adds some great flavor when you are mixing up your own rubs. Hows the wild rice holding up? Is it as good as the first stuff I sent? Also thanks for the Christmas card hoping you and yours have a graet holiday!!

Hi Kieth! I'll be ordering some of their half-sharp hungarian and some Spanish sweet- that works real nice on my rubs.

These last bags of wild rice were better than the first, Mrs Rivet and I thought. They cooked up a lot faster too, and the flavor was incredible as always. Nice nutty chewy deliciousness! We still have 2 bags left, so we are good to go for now, thanks. I'll definitely be PMing you when we need more to do another exchange. Planning on using another bag for a side with our Christmas goose.

Thanks again for the Spice House link and have a great Christmas!

Thanks for the link.
Looks like one of those were a chipotle seasoning.
Have you tried that one yet and if so how good is it

Hey Paul hows your rice holding up? Hope you have been enjoying it. I am going to be contacting the harvester right after the holidays for more. We have been using it in stuffing for Thanksgiving and now again for Christmas so I am getting a bit low.
Hope you and yours are having a great holiday season!!

Nope haven't tried it yet. I have some excellent Chipolte rub that I got in an exchange from Rivet. The one from the Spice House is Ground Morita Chipolte Powder. This could be used when mixing up rubs. I think I will use it in my next batch of Buffalo Chili that I plan on making after the holidays. Looks like it would make a good substitute when a recipe calls for chili powder.
Here is a link to the chipolte powder.

Oh so it was straight chipotle powder, even better!

Since I use my own chipotle rub recipe I either grind up whole chipotles or use powder so I'll definitely order a 4 pack box of goodies from them, not just for the powder but looks like a nice company to do business with (the freebie stuff) and seem to have some nice spices.
