i think tommarrow im going to smoke ribs tomarrow but im going to have some company tomarrow and dont want to have to tend to my fire(since its goign to be raining all day ) so im thinking about smoking them for a couple of hours and then finish cooking them in the oven for the remainder of the time any one ever done this and how long do i need to cook them and is there can they be cook faster in the oven?

By all means you can start your ribs on the smoker for 2 to 3 hours (depending if StL or BB) and finish them in the oven at the same temp your smoker was (typically 225-250). As for speeding the process up, why rush what should be near perfection? Good things comes to those that wait!

I would do them in the smoker for 3 hours at 225, then wrap in foil with a splash of apple juice and then in the oven at 225 for another 2 hours. gives you a 5 hour slow cook! Top it off with a quick run on the grill with a mop sauce and you got a treat for your friends and they can be impressed with your multi-level ability!

Yes you can do that but we don't talk about it here. No just kidding. You can smnoke them for maybe the first 3 hour segment and then throw them into the oven and finish them in there. But the one thing you cann't change is the Qview view we like that here.
