Rookie smoker here with only a handful of smokes under my belt so still a lot to learn. Going to smoke a turkey and have now been asked to also smoke some ribs. I have smoked poultry before but not ribs. Would like to do both at same time. Question is is that possible ? From all I have read the temps for smoking each is quiet different.
Thanks in advance.

A smoker is just a smoky oven. Yes, you can do both at the same time. Have I ever done that? No. Have I ever cooked ribs at 325-350F before? Yes.

Before I started smoking ribs, I oven roasted ribs. At 350F in the oven, a rack of ribs would take anywhere from 90 minutes to 3 hours to get fork tender. If your smoker can run at that temp, you're good to go.

Hi there and welcome!

Put the ribs above the turkey and you should be fine.
If you have temperature probes just pull the ribs when they hit 198-203F and you will have great ribs.

Finally, if you want edible turkey skin then you will want to smoke at 325F or higher. At that temp the whole smoke should probably be done in less than 4 hours.

Best of luck and Happy Thanksgiving! :)
