Hey all, New guy here (33yrs old) from Chicago area here. Gotta say stumbling here was a great move. The wealth of info here is astounding. I've been wanting to get into smoking for some time now and finally took the plunge.

For my birthday I picked up A 'Smoke Hollow' smoker. Not quite a pro setup but I see myself growing out of it soon enough.

My first attempt at baby backs were good. Then last night's Pulled pork turned out unbelievable. I followed the Carolina Pulled Pork recipe from this site with a couple small changes. ( no slaw, and used a store bought sauce I like) Quite possibly my best cooking exploit to date.

I'm thinking of trying a bird or fish next. We'll see what the winds steer me into that at that time.

Thanks,
Fuse

Welcome to SMF !!!
I have been smoking for about 6 years and I joined this site just this last May; I have learned 20 times more here in 6 months than I did in my 6 years previous. There are many knowledgable members here willing to share their experience and skills with everyone. I feel very fortunate to have found a place that feels like home. Heck, before joining this site I had never heard of a fatty or an ABT before !!!

Thanks for warm welcome all....

I'll be sure to fire the camera up for my next Qview.

Welcome! And if a bird is in yer future, I heartly recommend curing, or at least a brine. SOOO much better when smoked that way.

Enjoy, and just ask.

Just wanted to add my welcome to the rest.

Nice smoker! You don't need to have a pro setup for a good smoke.
Peolpe here have everthing from trash cans to trailor rigs.

I have an old small horizontal rusty smoker and it smokes like a pro!
