Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum due to an interest in learning more about smoking meats, making different rubs. Thanks in advance for your answers to the many questions I'll be asking in the near future!... Have a good day and good smoke!

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to have you with us!

If your looking for a good rub & sauce, then I would purchase Jeff's recipe's.

They are very good & can be tweaked to your personal taste.

Also some of the proceeds go to maintaining this site.

Afternoon all,

Badger Growler checking in. First time here so bare with me whilst I find my way around. After spending 3 years building an oil drum smoker from scratch (lazyitus) I started smoking a couple of years ago. I have smoked many a pork shoulder for pulled pork and goes down a treat every summer with the family. Very little leftovers left for myself lol. I hope to meet some new faces and help guide me through the bits I don't know about. Am based in Harlow in Essex, anyone near? Anyway, am gonna be up at 4am to start smoking a 4kg pork shoulder, skinned this morning to make the best pork scratchings lol, secret blend of herbs and spices made up. Honey and mustard slapped on and dry rub applied. Anyone know where I can get Apple wood in Essex as I'm struggling. Right best get out to the garden and start chopping. Catch you all a bit later
