Hey all,

I just started my smoking "career" this winter by receiving a smoker for Christmas.

I am in search of help for what people think is the best/easiest recipies.  I would like to start by smoking fish and basically whatever I get my hands on! Any thoughts on a recipe for smoking fish, specifically sunfish/northerns? Pheasant?

Last, any other resources, books/websites that I could use.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Welcome from windy and cold Missouri.  There is so much information here it is a little overwhelming at times, but if you have a question the answer is probably here.  I have only member for a few days now.  I would suggest using the search bar at the top.  Looking through the results will give you tons of information.  I have learned so much and found some awesome recipes If you like baked beans try these http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/50945/dutchs-wicked-baked-beans. Best if luck smoking.

drazab,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it then smoked it.

Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with their opinion on the subject.

It would help answer your questions alot if you would tell us what kind of smoker you have. I always suggest starting off with something cheap and forgiving like chicken thighs or pork butt. Learn your smoker and how it works before you move on to more detailed and unforgiving things.

Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
