So for fun, I disconnected the Arduino board from the Banana and set it over on my cold smoker. If you go to this URL you'll be able to see the web interface and watch my temps as they happen. Nothing really to exciting because it'll be steady temps and I only have two probes hooked up right now. I'll throw another one on to show the outside air temp in a little while.

The Pit temp and food temp 1 are inside the smoker, I'll hook up food temp 2 in a little bit to show the outside temperature.

Okay, I put another probe on and changed the name of it to "outside temp"...

Getting a blank page

Ah crud... I think its an issue in Explorer browsers. It looks fine in Firefox. I'll get it fixed tomorrow.

doesn't make any sence.

target temp of 220:03:30
INSIDE SMOKER 59
outside 29
food temp of -89

at -89 that foods going to take an awful long time to cook, mind you, you don't have to worry about no critical temp.

Yeah, there's some bugs to work out. I'm not sure why it doesn't show in Explorer. Explorer is picky about HTML sometimes.

The temps are showing -89 for the probes that I don't have plugged in. I'm gonna change it so if it returns that value it will show "not connected" instead.

The uptime/target temps are messed up because the data stream isn't set up correctly on the the Arduino board.

It's kinda like tuning a smoker, gotta work the bugs out

Although I can't see it (using IE at work). I do like the idea and effort so you get points.......I'll check it out at home on Firefox.

Okay, I think I've fixed the issues aside from not showing in IE.

It now shows that target temp/uptime correctly and will show "Not Connected" if a probe isn't hooked up. When I use the Banana "Heating Element" will cycle on/off at the same time as the actual element so it should be interesting to see how often it's on.

Took a while of fiddling with it and I lost "uptime" when I took it back in the house to reprogram it, but it looks a lot nicer now.

This was the first time using it while smoking something, hence the few bugs to work out. Its main use will be for monitoring up to four things in the Banana and controlling the temperature of the pit with the heating element.

I did a little reading and apparently IE browsers don't like the java stuff used to make the web view. Not to big of a deal as it works in the mobile view (Blackberry/iPhone/etc) and Firefox. I'm gonna talk to my buddy and see if we can make an IE friendly page though.
