My name is Jeff, I am 40 years old.  I live in Southeast Texas with my wife and 3 kids.  I am currently using a Chargriller DUO with the side fire box that I added a few months back.  So far, I have had nothing but success smoking meats since I added the fire box.  I usually use a combination of charcoal and wood (either chips or small pieces from split chunks of mostly mesquite, some cherry and hickory.)  I spent the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving smoking our 13# turkey to perfection.  Pork loins and chickens have been very tasty as well.  I look forward to really getting involved with this forum.

First off welcome to SMF there Jeff. Sweet smoker to. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Please let us look over your shoulder by sending photos.  We love the photos.  Enjoy, and take advantage of all the resources available.  Sounds like you are gonna be teachin and preachin on the forum.  As for wood, I have had good luck with Pecan too, but might have to check out some cherry and mesquite too.

GOOD LUCK!
