The BURG!!!
I just getting started, my mother-in-law bought me a Brinkman Smoke-N-Pit (what a great lady!) and I'm looking for pointers. Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise.

first off welcome to smf. ya may need an umbrella for yer 1st mod.you can go to my pics here & here to see my poor man mods(what works for me)also get some dryer vent flex tube for the underhood side of smokestack to bring it down to the grate level. check out the wood or charcoal smoker threads-great mods there.my basic mod is i took the 1st grate closest to the fire box & wrapped it in heavy foil as a tuning plate. that way i can poke holes in the foil if need be or spray that w/ oil & do fish or whatever. here's a couple pics. http://s178.photobucket.com/albums/w...keycook006.jpg http://s178.photobucket.com/albums/w...daycook016.jpg
