I hope I am posting this in the correct section if not please move it or open it to all sections. I recently acquired 2-500 gallon propane tanks and a 250 gallon propane tank. I am wanting to build a trailer cooker. I have a single axle that appears to be a 6000-7000 lb axle (it was free, more than enough I think for my needs). My plan is to build the trailer with the two 500 gallons as cook chamber and the 250 cut in half for two fire boxes. I know a tandem axle will pull better but the axle I have does have electric brakes. My two questions are where should I place my axle on the trailer to get the best balance and should I go ahead and start looking for another axle to build a tandem. Below is the blueprint of the trailer I want to build. It would be an offset with the possibility of having tuning plates.
