Hello im new to this forum and need some advice.I just got a new masterbuilt extra wide propane smoker over the weekend and i smoked some chicken but had problems ! i warmed the smoker to 250 then added chicken 3 full racks of peices then temp droped to around 220 do i raise the temp or leave it and let it recover on its own thanks for any input....

Just let it recover, it should come back fairly quickly. You added a bunch of mass that was below 40* (chicken) so of course the temp will drop but propane usually recovers pretty good. If you raise the temp to compensate then when the chicken starts to warm up you will be way above your desired temp and will have to turn it back down and it could cause you to start a temp chase for awhile.

I see this is your first post here so when you get a minute would you swing by "Roll Call" and introduce yourself so we can give you a proper SMF Welcome, Thanks!
