Had this built. I do more cooking on my grill than a smoker. Made to fit where the grates would normally go and sits about a 1/2 inch above burner. Smoking burgers for test run just to see how long it smokes.
 
I started at tin foil wrapped chips and coffee cans and about everything else. Works 10xS better than any of those. Been smoking for a little over an hour now. Now I'm addressing air flow. Way too much through the whole grill. A little customization with the airflow and I think it'll turn out good. Going to block some air and put a stack on the opposite side of the smoke box.
 
Nice little unit for Grillers , makes reverse searing shorten . Gets done all in one step

Lol. Too much money into it to be able to sell, unless I make it cheap and flimsy. I have had ribs turn out real good with less than this. Looking forward to the first rack.
 
Oh, and I only run the one burner and stays about 225-250 in there. I have to start a few other burners for the reverse sear. Easier than than my smokers for dinner foods.
