I have enjoyed being a member of this group for some time now and have received lots of great info which has helped us enjoy our Traeger LTE. Our poor Weber Summit grill has only been uncovered twice since Traeger became part of our family. While I have yet to master brisket and pulled pork everything else we have cooked has turned out fantastic so thought I would share my latest success with rib eye steaks. Earlier in the week we made a trip to Costco and picked up some great looking rib eyes at $7.99/lb. Got a package of 4 with a total weight of just under 4 lbs. While waiting for the steaks to reach room temp I applied some Traeger Prime Rib rub on both sides. Once the LTE was ready I put them on the grill and cooked for an hour on SMOKE only. I then turned the control to 375° and cooked them to an IT of 140°. Yes I’m a fan of Frogmats also. I then took them off the grill and covered with foil to rest for 10 minutes or so. I was not interested in grill marks or searing before or after as many folks like. I was cooking for flavor not looks. Yes the reddish hue does make the steak have a rather odd appearance but if you can get past that the flavor is second to none. These were one of the best tasting steaks we have ever had. The wife even said why cook them on the grill when they taste better from the Traeger. We love our Traeger.
