Smoked Filet w/qview

Discussion in 'Beef' started by fastfusion, Oct 21, 2009.

  1. After seeing a few posts about smoked steak, I decided to give it a try. Fired up the watt burner and dropped in some Hickory for flavor. Smoked it between 190-210 until internal temp was 105, then finished it on the Weber. I Gotta say it was excellent, flavor was great. This one is a keeper !!!

    Thanks for looking

That steak look awesome but why is there only one there. Something that good should be shared with a lady friend or someone close to you. You did a great job to.[IMG]

That is a fine looking steak, how did the smoke flavor come through?
You're making me want to fire up the smoker and do a few filets tonight, maybe I'll go the Ron route and give it a little TQ love.

  8. The Hickory smoke flavor complemented the steak, it was not too heavy and I got a slight smoke flavor along with the great taste of the Filet !!! This was the test run so I only did one, I couldn’t take a chance and make a mistake with a steak that nice.

That was one very nice filet mignon you shared, thanks! Very nice....was the Makers Mark involved in the beef or was it for the dining?
