Smoked chicken quarters MES

  1. So I had some of these in the freezer and wanted to try smoking them.

    Put standard clubhouse chicken BBQ rub on and preheated the Mes to 275 F. 50/50 mix of maple and cherry soaked and loaded in the chip tray. Smoked for 1.5 hour and then finished on the BBQ for 25-30 min to crisp them up and finish with some honey BBQ sauce.

    My kids and wife loved it. I think next time 30 more minutes in the smoker would be perfect for tenderness. But all in all the chicken had an amazing sweet Smokey flavour.

    Glad the chicken turned out good for you!

    Did you take the internal temp of the chicken when it was done.

    175 for thighs is perfect.

  3. No I didn't bother with the temp I knew it was cooked.
