smoked brisket nachos

it may belong under beef but it's an appetizer so here.(mods feel free to redirect if need be)
2lb brisket simmered(as follows)....

2lb flat of brisket
4 cups water (add water as needed)
1 cube beef boullion
1 pkg mccormick au jus or 1 cup brisket drippins
4 cloves smoked garlic paste
1/2cup minced smoked onion
1/4 tbsp red pepper
a few shakes of fajita spice

simmer over med heat 4-6 hrs until meat shreds w/ a spoon.
add diced tomatoes,& comino if wanted
simmer 2 more hours on low
sit overnight & next day reheat to a simmer & drain the shredded meat

add spray oil or foil to a baking pan
oh sheesh ya know how to make nachos.....
chips
beans,
cheese,
drained shredded brisket meat,
more shredded cheese & jalepenos
cook 15-20 mins on 375 until cheese is bubbly
add shredded lettuce,tomatoes,sliced black olives, salsa,guac,sour cream, & a shake of crushed dried cilantro w/ a squeeze of lime
ENJOY....

Like all recipes .... adapt! I may just save some smoked brisket and try this....sounds very good!

Sounds great! I use my briskets and pulled pork for nachos, and burrittos it's so much better than plain ole meat!

Ever grind up some smoked meat with cheese and use it that way? Works good too - less drippy.
 
My girls and their friends really like nachos or corn chips with smoked meat,cheese,sour cream and salsa.
 
i smoke it first... but simmered after adds a lot for a few different recipes... like my smoked then simmered carne guisada...ya just gotta have it.... and call me or pm me i'll hook ya up on summersville if ya can do it.
