I'm finally got the majority of my smoke house supplies, now I have one question... My house is going to have a floor in it with legs instead of the blocks and open floor, I want to option to put an electric element in it for got smoking turkeys and other things... Should my smoke pipe comming in the back be at the bottom of should it be raised up 6-8 inches so that it is above the possible heat plate? Or so it matter with an electric element.

Hi D, I can tell you for sure that I wish I'd found this

site before I started my build.

That being said, I'm running an electric unit and I

put my vent right down close to the floor.

So far it seems to work quite well for me, I'm running

an AMNPS for smoke.

It stays lit without any problems at all.

We'll see what some of the other folks on here

have to say about this.
