Well, I heard that it is true of neighbors that catch a wiff of the amazing aromas of a smoke in progress.

In my case.....on my first smoke.....there were no neighbors peeking out through the bushes and such, but a funny thing happened when I went to reheat (from frozen) my amazing first batch of ribs.... at work.

They came all right! They ALL smelled my babies as they were warming up in the microwave and were awestruck by the smell. Poor suckers. Sucks to be them! ROFL!!

Now you are bragging , remember if there is no Qview it never happened !

Sounds you have a lot of fun with your cooking .

Don't worry, the neighbors and your family and friends will all catch on. Then you're gonna need a bigger rig!

I can tell you that the smell of hickory and applewood spewing constantly from my backyard has put my whole neighborhood into a grilling and barbecuing frenzy. Since I've gotten serious about Q again, I've noticed the telltale smells up and down the street, just about every day. Yesterday afternoon, it was steaks. If I could've figured out where they were coming from, I would've been very tempted...

An electric fence might be a good investment after all.

I am the only one in my neighborhood that smokes so when they start smelling it they seem to always stop by. Its a dead give away when my smoker is sitting in the driveway but now that I have my new smoke shack hidden behind my garage in the back they have to smell it before they see it. haha They all say they want to buy a bunch of meat and have me smoke it and I just tell them go buy a smoker or I will help you build one and I will teach you. I think they are just to intimidated of smoking to give it a try. Oh well their loss.

I agree that the longer you smoke and continue to improve, eventually - your neighbors will start sniffing around your property.

Another benefit...I had two people last year each give me a full slab of ribs....if I didn't mind smoking a 2nd slab for them! Not a bad way to get some free ribs.

I've noticed my backyard neighbors start smoking ribs about noon whenever I've had mine going all morning. It will be interesting to see the trend when more people are outside instead of holed up for the winter.

Recently when I was teaching my youngest girl (she's 15 guys and I own a few shotguns) to smoke a Boston butt our neighbor said we should come over to their house for dinner some night as long as I brought the meat.
