Michael Symon recently opened a BBQ restaurant in Downtown Cleveland, OH. One of the sides is "smoked beets with horseradish". I thought it was excellent. Does anyone have a copycat recipe by chance. It is not like his "horseradish beet salad", which is posted on the internet.

My attempt was smoked beets [used canned beets so I did not have to cook them and smoked 45 minutes using an AMPS so no heat they turned out good] and the sauce.

The sauce is the tricky part. I know : Red wine vinegar, scallions, horseradish, and salt. I think olive oil. Anything else is a guess.

My attempt was 3 Tbs red wine vinegar, 2 Tbs olive oil, 1/2 tsp kosher salt, 1 scallion- coarsely chopped, 1 1/2 tsp ground horseradish and 1 tsp Splenda. Used 2 - 15 oz cans of canned sliced beets, smoked.

Result is pretty good. I think it tastes a bit too much like pickled beets, but certainly eatable to someone who likes pickled beets/smoked beets/beets.
