I'm smoking ribs and I am about an 1.5 hours in. I noticed it was starting to rain/snow (which it wasn't suppose to do today) and without thinking slowly slid the smoker over so it would be under an overhang.
I completely forgot about the liquid inside (I know don't ask kids are off today) and instantly heard a sizzling. 2 seconds later I noticed a lot of smoke so I opened the door. I looked inside where the chips go and noticed a small file. Still lots of smoke. I quickly unplugged the unit and sealed it to try and deprive the fire of oxygen. A minute or 2 later the fire was out.
Here's the big question. Are these ribs salvageable or is it a loss? I fired the smoker back up and set it to the temp I want hoping for the best.
any advice???
