Hi all,

New member from the UK here. I love cooking outdoors but i am new to proper bbq. I have posted this on a uk forum but this forum seems a lot more popular for builds.

I have a vertical propane tank which I think would be a 100lbs tank for you in the US it is tall but only about 14.5 inch in diameter.

My best option would probably be to set it up horizontally with a separate fire box. I have a smaller tank I could use for this. What I would prefer to do however is keep it vertical and put a door on the front then have the fire in the bottom and several racks. I could put a chimney out the top and maybe a couple of valves in the bottom.

What do you guys think? Will it be easy enough to control the temp? I'm not fussed about the small capacity as I'm only cooling for friends and I figure I can fit a rack of ribs, a joint and a bird in there. I have a gauge I can use to monitor the temp.

Here is a pic of the bottle:

Thanks in advance for any input!

I should have probably put this in the other builds category. Maybe a mod could move it for me.

More info: I think it is probably about 20-25 gallon.
