Is it easy to leave the crank handle off when storing the unit? If I get one, it will most likely get stored in the pantry when not in use, and I have to kind of plan for it before I buy it. I know it has a relatively small footprint, when not including the handle, but I wasn't sure if you're supposed to leave the handle in-place when not in use. Kitchen appliance/gadget rule in my house: If you bring a new one in, the old one - or something of comparable size/usage - has to be removed from the household. (Stupid, big-city homes with no basements for hobby kitchens...pffft.) Based on the responses to my last post (and more research in the forums), I think I'm going to give in to peer pressure and invest in an entry-level vertical stuffer. Tomorrow or Friday... may be the day. My household really liked the flavor of the Italian sausage I made, but the texture needed to be a little looser - a factor of the auger of the KA stuffer and my learning curve. So many more recipes to try... Thanks in advance!
