Decided to do another butt up to day my second so far and since the smoker is going I thought I would smoke up some shrimp warped in bacon and also some corn in the husk and baked beans I'll let ya all know how it goes...
Sorry no pics just wanted to say the shrimp came out great.. just got to think of some kind of rub or something for them...anyone have any suggestion let me know..
I love bacon wrapped shrimp! We do large prawns wrapped in pepper bacon - and if you really want to kick it over the top brush them with real maple syrup! The combo of the sweet syrup and the salty bacon is heavenly! Or you can ommit the syrup and drape a piece of monteray jack cheese over them. Either way a simple but awesome way to cook shrimp.
We in Fla love our shrimp even bacon wrapped alittle old bay and your good. Just the other week I found this old bay rub and it is really good and no it's not just a differant package same spice it's all out differant and got a good kick too. Oh yea I got it at winn dixie
No I do that on a hot grill, so the bacon will crisp before the shrimp get overcooked and turn to rubber. That is another reason to use the larger prawns... cooking time is longer so the bacon has a little more time on the flame. As far as cooking time... sry never timed it, heh-heh. I just watch the bacon and flip/pull it when it starts to look brown.
Hope you try them.. they are really good if you are a shrimp lover
