Hey y'all! Just got my newly assembled Masterbuilt gas smoker seasoned... thanks to you guys! Went with the bacon grease rub-down (inside and out). Excited about letting you guys help me get this little guy smoking.

Shanesaw, evening and welcome..... get something smoking and take pictures (Q-views) so we can all drool on the keyboards....

Now that you are at your new found home... enjoy the long smokey ride.... Dave

Ok, so the first test of the Masterbuilt is over!  Atomic Buffalo Turds (a friends recipe I modified a bit...)  They turned out great, but I'm gonna have to implement some of the suggestions on temperature and flare-up control I've learned in the forum.  This is the best place to learn about your smoker on the web!

DaveOmak asked for a Q-view, so here is the result of my first smoking effort on the new Masterbuilt.

ABT's are stuffed, smoked Jalepenos, as follows: (I'll get this in the recipe forum in a few minutes)

Split, seed, and de-vein the peppers (10-12 large Jalepenos will use most of the filling in this recipe)

For the filling,

Mix together 1 pkg of softened cream cheese, 1/4 pound of breakfast sausage, and 1/4 pound of chorizo.  Spoon about a teaspoon of the filling into each half of the pepper.  Arrange the peppers onto a foil tray (eliminates the need to clean the melted cheese out of your smoker). Smoke at 175-225 for 30-45 minutes.  as you can see in my photo, I ran a little hot and long, but they're still fantastic.

You can adjust the heat of these little jewels by varying the depth of the vein you leave in.

Another variation is rather than halve the peppers like I did, you can split one side, clean 'em out, stuff them, then wrap them with bacon (my preferred method, but I didn't have any bacon left after breakfast, AND they tend to be a little hotter, since you can't get at the veins as well)
