I'm having a marathon of smoke to break in my new MES for a picnic roast I'm doing for the 4th. Yesterday was a Turkey breast that turned out ok. Today is a Bottom Round roast. I found I like Emeril's Steak Rub for a brisket I did a month ago so I used it today.

I'm curious how the meat will turn out with my MES vs the Vertical charcoal smoker I have. I can't wait to try some fatties and ABT. Now, to decide if I'm going to slice or shred...

Once I figure out how to post pics I'll supply Q-view.

Sounds good but Qview would be better

I got pics of most of it and now just have to post pics. I never tried ABT before and shared it with my neighbors. Everyone, including myself were AMAZED!

We did agree that we could wrap a stick with bacon and it would be good, though.

I used cream cheese, breakfast sausage and mexican blend cheese. Wasn't even hot.

Things took much longer than I anticipated. I pulled it off to rest at 9:00, so it was a good thing I had some hamburger handy for supper. I could have used some more smoke, so I'll keep that in mind for next time. Hickory and Apple, BTW.

Pics to come this afternoon.

Looks great and nice Qview!!

I'm curious also, how do they compare.

I do like the meat that is coming out of the MES the more I use it. It seems like every time is a little better than the last. That being said, I do miss the charcoal flavor.

One of these days I will have to fire them up at the same time and see which one I like more. That's a great idea! The next time I do ribs, I'm doing just that.
