Sealing firebox

Can this be used to seal my fire box. Has anyone tried it?

Unknown. The product hasn't been tested in a food handling environment and carries no FDA approvals. Doesn't mean it's unsafe, it just means that they haven't submitted it for testing to the FDA. Have you called 3M to ask about it?

If it's the same one I looked at it is water soluble and not meant to be used outdoors.
