Cabelas has a sale on commercial sausage stuffers and the motor for hands free operation.

I just put mine on hold at the store by me. I got the 20 lb commercial stuffer and the motor too. (last motor they had in stock).....My total cost is $398.00 plus tax.

Big thanks go out to Silverado2100 for the heads up and saving me the money for this unit. Another reason this is such a great forum, people watching out for each other and passing along valuable information!!!!!

my uncle had the 30lbs one and we wore the gears off it in a year. Cabelas excellent customer service took care of the situation and sent out a new stuffer but when he pulled it out of the box the gear had a broken tooth on it he sent it back promptly. Just look at there reveiws on there website most of them agree.

Hey Silverado, WOW, thanks for the heads up on the problems. I called Cabelas and talked to a product representative and believe this or not he answered all my questions honestly. It turns out they do have a problem with gear teeth breaking off do to the motor being stronger then the gears and people trying to get every last piece of meat out. It seems that if you go all the way to the bottom and don't stop the motor, it stresses the teeth and they break. He also told me that they are discontinuing these stuffers. I asked him if it was because they were having to many problems and losing money and he said yes.
At least when questioned Cabelas didn't try to hide the facts. that's pretty rare a company would do that knowing they will lose the sale.

After finding out this information I will not be purchasing this equipment and have canceled my order.

With these facts I would not recommend this sausage stuffing equipment.

He did say the horizontal stuffers are much better made but no motors are available as of yet.

Again, a "Big, Thank you" to Silverado2100 for the heads up and saving me that money on a bad product. And also a Big Welcome to the SMF...

I have the 30# Cabelas and have had no problems with it, but I hand crank it. Like Tim Taylor's sidekick Al would say, more power isn't always a good thing! I bought mine refurbished for about $200. I don't know why the original owner returned mine, but a good guess would be that he attached a motor to it and stripped the gears. The gears were new (replaced?) when I got it.
