Sausage Sammies from the Air Fryer

My HotAirFryer was being ignored too long since I got my Sous Vide Supreme, so I put some Sausages in to make it feel useful again.
I really didn’t want to ignore it, but I was having too much fun with my new SV toy!!

The AirFryer has become my favorite way to make Sausages.
Whenever I made Sausage on the Grill, I had trouble getting the inside done, without burning the outside. I used to get them partially done, and then slice them almost in half, and lay the inner side down on the grill to finish.
When I made them in the Frying Pan, they would splatter the whole place up.
However when I make them in the AirFryer, all I do is spread them out in the Basket, and set it for 360° for 14 minutes. Then at 7 minutes, I pull the drawer out & flip them all over. Put it back in & it starts up right where it left off. Then at the end of 14 minutes, they’re Perfectly done, inside & out—No burning & No splatter.

Thanks for stopping by,

Bear

Thank You!

The main thing is to keep them apart from each other, kinda like smoking multiple pieces of something.

The little recipe book I got with mine was a good starter.

I gotta start putting some of the ones I did in my Step by Step Index.

Yup---Quick & Easy to use, and Mrs Bear loves the easy clean-up!!

And Thanks for the Points.

Bear

Kel has zero concern about whether the cleanup is easy or takes four hours, since I do all the cleaning in addition to all the cooking. (When I'm not traveling on business, of course...)

No Dishes here:

I had KP enough in the Army to last most people a lifetime.

Then when I went to Ft Monmouth for Electronics, the first week you got KP every day of that week, from 4 AM to 10 PM, so you wouldn't be interrupted in class for a day & fall back a week.

I swore I'd never wash another dish, and so far I haven't!!

However I feel bad for Mrs Bear, so I try to dirty the least amount of dishes & such that I can.

I'm still waiting for the next birthday to roll around for my air fryer to arrive.

In the meantime, this might be a good time and place to pass along a hint of how I was told to cook sausages by the colorful character who shows up at our local farmers market. He produces and sells his own custom sausages, many of them with extraordinarily unusual ingredients (artichokes, red wine, etc.). Here's his web site:

Cowboy Sausage & Chili Company

What he told me to do -- and it works really well -- is to put the sausage on the cast iron skillet (I use the one with the ridges, but I've done it on a flat CI as well). Do NOT prick the sausage. Use relatively low heat and cook for a LONG time. Each time you turn the sausage, brush a little EVO over the sausage. Expect the cooking to take at least twenty minutes (low heat ...).

The result is great, but it is hard to beat Bear's air fryer sausage pics in post #1. And, it sounds like cooking in the air fryer is closer to a a "set and forget" cook.

Exactly---The best way I had to do Sausage before was in my old "Showtime" Rotisserie, on the skewers, but due to an undersize cord, I stopped using it because it started getting too hot.

This AirFryer is definitely "Set it & Forget it", and the sausages end up Perfect.
