sure why not? just make sure it has been heated for a while don't use the drippings in the beginning. but towards the end sure...its mostly grease/fat anyway with flavoring
The short answer is YES. Remove the fat first. Skim what you can, the Fat is clear and colorless, the good stuff is slightly cloudy and a golden brown, leave this Jus behind. There will still be a little fat left. Take 2" wide strips of Paper Towel and quickly drag a couple across the surface, this will remove the remainder. The remaining Jus is great in your BBQ Sauce...But Sweet Baby Rays !?!...Your putting Solid Gold 22" Dub's* on a HUGO there my friend! Those drippings are also a major flavor boost in a variety of things. Here is some more on the subject and a Recipe that I think you will like with no HFC or preservatives...JJ
Note*...That's a really nice set of MAG's or Cragar's for you OLD GUYS!
Combine all and warm over low heat just until it starts to bubble. Simmer about 5 minutes, stirring very frequently, to combine flavors and to thicken slightly.
Use or pour into a sterile jar and refrigerate for up to 4 weeks.
Makes 3 1/2 Cups.
This is a similar style to KC Masterpiece or Sweet Baby Rays but way better.
