Santa was very generous need advice on which smoker to keep

Apparently I was a good boy this year and got 2 smokers this Christmas, need to decide which to keep ( yes keeping only 1). Which of these two would you recommend:

• Meco 5030 ELECTRIC
• Brinkman Vertical PROPANE (Home Depot)

Initially leaning towards Brinkman because of bigger cooking space but the ease of use of electric is a draw too.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, plan to use the keeper for New Years Eve dinner

You must have been very good! Since I don't know about either. I would keep the larger capacity.

Haven't heard of the first one at all..and Brinkmann's are "beginner" setups really..and you'll soon want something big and/or better....maybe take both back and get yourself a WSM, or maybe a MES or something similiar.  Just a thought.

First, welcome to SMF.  When you have a chance jump over to the Roll Call section and introduce yourself for a proper SMF welcome.

Congrats on the haul over Christmas, that Santa guy is all right.  Of the two you got, my preference would be with the propane unit.  I think generally you have more heat you can work with so if you need a higher temp for chicken you can get there with the propane where the electric may not have enough oomph.  The larger size is nice also.

WOW you must have been extra good. I must have been naughty as I didn't even get 1 smoker.......lol. which to keep is a tough decision. 1 thing to keep in mind is who gave them to you. If I took 1 back my wife bought me ooooooooo boy 

. However if she was on-board with returning I'd be OK. I have a MF LPG unit and love it. I have never herd of the other one either. If it were me Id weigh who gave them to me as well as the space, and choose the best option that would keep me out of the most trouble. With that said personally I think I'd either take them both back and get a bigger unit or keep them both.
