Hello all,

Hoping someone can steer me towards a sandblaster in my area with reasonable prices...HELP!!!

I just got a quote for $175.00 to sand blast a 55 Gallon drum

!! The drum in question would brand new and un-lined.  Don't know if I can burn it due to possibility of fumes from paint outside drum.   HELP!!!!

OK, the company (Abby Drums in Baltimore) has re-conditioned unlined 55 gallon drums for $53.  They look as though the liner (?) has already been removed exposing the bare metal.  I purchased one of these today.

That quote is crazy. My local powder coat shop charged my $25.00 inside and out. Another $75 to powder coat the outside of the drum and lid.

$25 is their minimum charge for sandblasting.

That's a more realistic price. For the price and parts, I could've brought a WSM but then I wouldn't experience building my own UDS.

It's almost finished! All I have left is the bottom vent hole covers.  Will do a seasoning tomorrow (weather permitting)
