I wish I could help you, but I'm still searching for that perfect mix myself. I'll follow this thread and see if something pops up. There are some blends out there that are great, it's just getting them to post them that's the problem. The best I ever had was much better than the second best I ever had, but he wouldn't give up the recipe. Then he died a couple of years ago and took it with him to his grave. It was a rib rub, and the one thing I struggle with is ribs. I think he ruined it for me, because I can't get mine as good as his.

Here is one below I use for pork.  I cut down on the sugar though and add more when I wrap.  I have also added some other pieces to the below like jalapeno powder.  You can substitute Turbinado Sugar for brown sugar. Also, hit up Jeff for his rub recipe.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
