Rookie smoker

Hello! My name is Julie and I m from a little town in the midwest called Troy, IL. I recently bought a grill/smoker combo. I've never smoked anything in my life so I needed any and all info I could get my hands on. That's when I ran across Jeff's website this forum. I love to cook, and I especially love to grill. (yes I do all the grilling. My husband isn't allowed to touch my grill) I'm sure I'll love smoking once I get the hang of it. Any tips on something very simple to start with?

Welcome aboard, Julie!  Glad you joined us.  You've found a great place to learn and share ideas.  Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Just ask when you need help and you'll get plenty.  For an easy first smoke you might try a Boston Butt for pulled pork (long smoke, but relatively easy) or chicken pieces (wings, thighs, breasts, etc.).  In their respective forums, there are all kinds of threads with lots of info on smoking each.  Remember, whatever you decide to cook, we love Qview here (pics of your cook/food).  Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Pork spare ribs or pork belly is a great starter.
Just put it on the table and stand back next thing there will be bones left and thats about it.
