Newbie looking to step up from the Alton Brown home made flower pot smoker.  Located in Park City, Ut (7000 ASL).  Pretty much a rookie but want to buy a smoker that can do both hot and cold smoking.  Ideally a natural gas smoker that I can put next to my gas grill.

Looking forward to tapping the smoking brain trust on this site!

Welcome to the board! Yes you can move up from the flowerpot smoker - I've seen that episode but I haven't tried the method yet. Look through the product reviews here to see what people like and don't like about particular models. I'm running an offset stick burner and a Weber kettle.

Hello and welcome to the forum from sunny East Texas. Great site Great people.
