Hello!

My name is Lance and I live in south west Michigan but really should live in south west USA...I love Texas style BBQ.  I have always wanted to smoke my own meats and I finally got an MES 30 for xmas.  My first go at smoking was a chicken as I read it is a good place to start.  Friday....a pork shoulder!  I got a good brine recipe from Alton Brown and a rub from this web site.

I am open to any suggestions or tips for novice smokers.
