Just saying hi and thanks for all the information. I will be purchasing a MES30 on Friday based on what a lot of you have said, small family so no need for the 40". I think I’ll order the amazin smoker shortly after for cold smoking as well. As a first timer what else am I leaving out? Smoker, thermometer and a pile of meats and cheese? Oh yes and a finger or two of bourbon to ease the anticipation.

   Thanks

Welcome to SMF! Sounds like you have a plan. Once your friends discover your new talents, you may wish you had gone for the 40. Anyway, have fun and good smoking!

Welcome to SMF. Goodluck with the purchase. The one thing I will tell you is you think you wont need it but once people taste what you are making you will have requests for your food and might run into a size issue.

Either way it will work out.

You will love the MES! I just got the 40 and can't believe how easy it is. The only thing I would recommend is a large appetite as there are tons of tasty recipes on here to try! I don't think I will ever run out of stuff to try!

Thanks for the warm welcome gentlemen! i wish i had the extra coin right now for the MES40" but i just through more money in my reloading bench.. sadly ill have to buy twice and cry twice..

Welcome aboard. I have an MES30 and an AMNPS and they're a match made in heaven. I too would love an MES40 but the 30 will do you fine. I do turkeys, hams, ribs, beef roasts, you name it. You won't be disappointed.
