I'm retired and have been smoking meat and things for about 25 years. I've had an assortment of smokers from water smokers, to stick smokers, pellet and today decided to take the easy way from the past and bought a Masterbuilt 40" electric smoker

This type of smoking is all new to me. I have watched a LOT of YouTube videos and had some guys who bought Masterbuilt recommend this type to me. Have tasted baby back ribs, brisket, pork shoulder and some GREAT burnt ends off this type of smoker and really can't say I can taste the difference...

I would appreciate any help you can throw my way and will enjoy talking with all of you. Yes I'm a Jayhawk so don't hold that against this Once A Marine Always A Marine".....

Hello PapaMike44, and welcome to the SMF family!  This is a friendly place to talk shop on all things smoked.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you have questions...someone here will surely be able to help.

Good morning PapaMike44 good to have you, I don't have an electric smoker but there are a ton of people on her that do, so you will get all kind of answers and information. It's not the smoker that makes really good BBQ it's the person who has done the prep work and is controlling the smoker. I have seen some great BBQ come off ECB's and some not so good BBQ come from $15,000 units

Thanks Gary and yes your definitely right....It's just NOT one thing that makes the difference between fair BBQ and GREAT BBQ....I hope to learn a lot from you guys and thanks again for all the GREAT input!

Welcome from Canada.

I use a Bradley electric smoker and enjoy it. I use an A-MAZE-N Pellet Smoker a lot. It allows for a good long smoke without messing around with chips for you and pucks for me. The manufacturer is a sponsor of the forum and there is an ad for them on the site but the link is http://www.amazenproducts.com/

I look forward to your posts!

Hey Gary I have a question about my Traeger LIL' TEX ELITE and wasn't sure where to post my question. I'll ask you and if this is not the forum then let me know please. Like all pellet grill it doesn't seem to generate enough smoke and I found these two smoke devices and wanted to get some opinions on them. A LOT of people seem to use them and they can make a difference in the smoke ring and most of all the flavor........See attached pictures

Sorry for being so late getting back to you, (Leaking Sink Problem)  I wish I new more about Pellet smokers but I have never owned one. Type in Pellet Smokers up in the Search Box and see if you can't get some answers, I'll look too and if I hind something helpful I will let you know.
