RF Smoker Planning (and the Build)

The building is finally completed. Sorry I did not post pics before I came to work. I have to paint it next week when I get home and it will be done. I ordered the paint and have everything ready to get that done. I will post before and after pics when I get back home. I had a goal to finish by thanksgiving and it looks like I will make it, barely.

I got the paint from KBS Coatings. It's a little expensive, but good for 1500 deg continuous. It is charcoal gray metallic. We'll see how it holds up. Here is the first coat.

While I am waiting the 8 hours to put on the second coat I am putting urethane on the boards for the deck. Some reclaimed cypress a family member had.

I painted the rest of the trailer Massey Ferguson red. I took these pics just before dark so it looks orange.

I finished putting everything together this evening. I did not get any pics before dark. I will get some tomorrow.

I can not get any more photos to upload. I tried on my phone and it will not work. Now on the computer it will not work either. Anybody have any idea why?

Yes I am. I can't check on my phone from offshore, but it does not even give me the icon for adding a pic on this compurter. I tried to go into photos and upload there and it never responds. I think I remember reading somewhere here that there was a limit to the amount of pics you could have or something. Maybe that is the issue. I have no idea. I will be home tomorrow and check it again on my phone if I get a chance.

On my phone it is on mobile. On this desktop, of course, it is on desktop. I usually do most of this from my phone and have not tried to post pics from a desktop in a while. I think the little icon for adding a picture was the same though. I can't see anywhere on here to add a pic. I don't see any toolbar at all when I try to post a reply. It just has the big white box to type the message in. No toolbar across the top of it like it use to be in desktop mode. When I was on my phone Tuesday morning before we flew offshore, the icon was there. It would let me choose the pic from my device and run through all the motions, but the pic would not show up when it was finished.

I like the look of that paint. Was it a rattle can, brush or did you spray? As far as uploading photos I have been having problems with my photos loading up sideways so maybe I will load them directly from my phone. The counderweight that you have was there anything inside.

I bought 2 quarts of the gray high temp paint from KBS and a gallon of the MF red from Tractor Supply. I sprayed it all with a spray gun.

I have noticed that if the pics on my phone sideways they will not load here for some reason, so I just make sure I take them all with the phone upright.

The counterweight is a piece of 1/2" wall 4" pipe. I did not have to add anything inside to make it work the way it is. I tried it out with it tacked together in case I needed to add some though.

SMOKER LOOKS GREAT.  YOU HAVE REALLY KNOCKED IT OUT PRETTY FAST.  I STARTED MINE ABOUT THE SAME TIME AND I HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO YET.

I HAVE A SISTER THAT LIVES NEAR YOU.  I LOVE TO VISIT HER.  GREAT WEATHER, PEOPLE, AND MOST OF ALL GREAT FOOD.

I just mounted a stainless steering wheel on the end of that shaft for the pro. I will get a pic of it when the rain stops.
We are starting a 120 lb pig this afternoon, and have a lot of other things to cook this week. The smoker should get a good workout. I'll try to post pics of some of it.
