Grew up in Rutherfordton and Asheville, NC. Moved to Florida 25 years ago and retired 11 years ago. Always loved to cook and recently bought a black MES 30" thru Home Depot. Bought Jeff's book Smoking Meat. In the last week and a half I have had three very successful smokes. 1)St Louis cut spare ribs, 2) Large link sausage and some ABTs, 3) Jeff's Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Sausage Fatty and of course a bunch more ABTs. The sausage was my home made recipe. Have triedHickory, Mesquite and Apple wood chips.

Welcome to you.

Sounds like you are doing fine with your smoker.

The folks on here will make you better and you

will make us better for being here.

Have fun.

Welcome from SC. It's really good to have you on this great site. There are lots of good folks here who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. A good way to tell if a person is really from NC is to ask him to pronounce Rutherfordton.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe :welcome1:

Rulfton

Actually, my parents lived in Sandy Mush just outside Spindale and I was born in the Rutherfordton hospital. Shortly therafter they moved to Rutherfordton.

I know exactly where Sandy Mush and Spindale are. I was born in Charlotte and lived there for 25 years and was transferred to Greenville, SC and been here for 46 years. Yeah...I guess Rulfton is probably what I hear most. Stay in touch, Joe
