Good morning, Smokers.  I just fired up my MES 30" Digital Smokehouse and noticed that the grills are losing chrome(?) finish and are trending towards rust.  They measure 14 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches.  Where can I get replacements?  And, what do you recommend I do to prevent or at least retard rust?  Thanks in advance for any help!

How old is your smoker ? If it's not very old I'd suggest calling Masterbuilt, I've never had an issue with what your talking about ! I clean & wipe down my grates before & after each smoke with some veggie oil or generic Pam spray !

My smoker is two years old and, thanks for the suggestion...call the manufacturer because if they have spare parts, they'd probably be the cheapest...

Masterbuilt will have spare rack parts for their smokers. You'll need to give the CSR your model number since the rack designs have changed slightly with the newer models.

Thanks for your help.  The SmokingMeatForums are simply amazing with all the input one gets--real solutions to real problems...
