this is a real simple dish to throw together, i've been makin this for years and have never had a complaint about the flavor (except for how spicy i make them once in a while..lol) This can be modified to please about anyone.
items needed
1 bag, baby red spuds
1 red onion
1 pack of kilbasa sausage
1/2 a bell pepper green or red
2 Tbl sp onion salt
2 Tbl sp garlic salt
2 Tbl sp seasoned salt
1 tbl sp chili powder
2 cups fresh cheese
olive oil
you can add to, or delete any of these spices to suit your taste..i usually toss a lil of everything on my spuds
i try and guess-ta-mate how many people will be at the function i'm makin these spuds for. i usually do 1 1/2 spuds per person.
quarter out the spuds and chop into thin slices and spread out on a nice size sheet of tin foil.
chop onion up into small pieces and mix with the spuds on the foil.
slice up the sausage of your choice into 1/2" pieces and add to the onions and spuds
chop 1/2 a bell pepper very fine and add to your spuds, onion and sausage
lightly coat with olive oil
mix all the dry rub items together and sprinkle on the spuds and mix together, than add more dry rub.
wrap the spuds up in the foil nice and tight, i usually double wrap to help keep the moisture in. it should look like a log.
toss on the top rack or your grill or on the smoker and for 2-3 hours on 225 until the spuds are nice and soft. cooking time may very depending on heat and how much you make..DO NOT put this over direct heat or the spuds will burn and stick to the foil.
when the spuds are done, dump into a bowl and sprinkle the cheese of your choice over top them and enjoy.
