Im looking to build a UDS, i just got a food grade drum for free that has the red liner in it, after a lot of reading I'm not too sure i want to take on the daunting task of trying to remove it. I have another lead on a drum that was "Reconditioned" through a local hydraulic fluid distributor. My question is would it be safe to use this reconditioned drum or should i continue to search for another food grade drum which seems to be near impossible here in dover delaware

From what i have read on here an unlined drum that had some kind of petroleum in it works well, because all you have to do is burn it out, clean it, assemble, pant the exterior and season it. then it should be ready i would think. and also food grade barrels are almost always lined with some sort of liner to protect the food stuffs inside.
