I'm completely brand new to smoking, and I have probably the most basic of questions. I'm really into BBQ on my Weber Grills, and I was wondering where to get a smoker, cause I'm not sure if Weber makes them.

Grillboy, start reading.

There are more smokers out there than you can shake a stick at. Your weber will smoke.

Just start reading on here, and google for info. You'll learn alot that would be hard to put into threads.

Once you have an idea, share it. Everyone here will help as much as they can.

I don't own a weber, so I can't help ya much right now.

Good luck and welcome to SMF, great people here!

GB not sure if youposted to rollcall yet but you might make a post there and introduce yourself.
There are many kinds of smokers and it depends on what you are looking for and how much you have to spend. Smokers can be picked up at various stores, even Walmart.
Give us a little more info and maybe we can help

if you want to get in cheap......just to make sure its what you want to do, and not invest alot of money.......... a ecb gourmet is your best bet......with mods........this way, its a easier learning curve.......so you can concentrate on the meat, after you learn to control temps on the smoker
plus, get yourself a good digi thermo's..........there are bunches out there.......so look around.......i, myself, use a redi-chek.......its a Maverick ET-73

next.......sign up for Jeffs FREE 5-day ecourse.........the course is offered to the left of the page, under How to Articles and Links

welcome fellow smoker.........

What BigAl said is right on the $. Many folks use WSM with great results... it's all good.

From one newbie to another... go get a Smoker!!

I started with the Brinkmann Gourmet, I picked it up at Lowe's for $37!!

You can't beat that for a starter... Test the waters with it, that way if you find you don't like smoking food...LOL(like that is possible) then you aren't out a few Benjamins!!

If you click my profile, I have a picture of my Brinkmann.. not too big, but big enough to do a Turkey and 2 chickens at one time... I have tested that!

The Gourmet has some major mods done to it by Brinkmann that make it much better than the Brinkmann Bullet... they really solved the whole HEAT issue with the removable pan... and lots of vents now!

Best of luck to you.. find something that you will love....

If you hang around long enough you'll change your screen name to BBQboy823 lol. Welcome man, and jump in head first, it's easier that way.
