Ready to Smoke!

Just wanted to say hello. Im just starting to get into smoking. And i must say that this website is a wealth of knowledge. After first buying the brinkmann vertical smoker and never smoking before this website saved my smoker a trip to the dump!

My first go around was awful.

Then after reading through the forums and Mod discussions i now have 2 successful smokes under my belt.

I did drill the holes in the bottom and sides of the charcoal pan. As well as invest in a remote thermometer and a charcoal chimney.This had made all the difference in the world.I am planning on making a few more mods.

I was wondering if anyone has seen the grill wok that a few people mentioned in other threads. Both home depot and lowes currently don't have them. I think having one of these to quickly change out pans once the temp goes down would be great.....

First off Welcome Wahly to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
