Like the title says.......I'm ready to build. I have a small fab shop so I have all the tools. I have been planning this for awhile and was planning on doing a 4 by 2 cylindrical reverse flow. I just wanted to open this up to anyone who would like to chime in. Is this the right size? Is reverse flow the best choice? So on an so forth. Thank you in advance for your opinions and knowledge.

Feldon's Calculator is really a neat tool! Here is a link to my preliminary measurements. Please feel free to jump in. If you have recommendations on the sizes or shapes of any of the components based on available hardware........I'd love to hear it.

I am building a reverse flow smoker too. From what everyone on here has explained to me and from what I gathered from  looking around on here the reverse flow fire box needs a certain amount of air flow to properly heat the cook chamber and draft  right. I think from what I have learned is as long as you have the correct amount of vents placed properly on the fire box and they are the right size by feldons pit calc. then the shape may not be so critical. There are a lot of smart people on here with good experience I'm sure someone will have a definite answer. Good luck on your build Hope to see your progress.
