My old Masterbuilt Smokehouse just died. Masterbuilt says it can’t be fixed. A member mentioned cold smoking, which gave me an idea. Why not build a firebox that would feed into the chip compartment on the old Masterbuilt? I hate to throw the thing way. I have ordered a different smoker to replace it. But it seems like it could be put to good use somehow. Any ideas?

Cold smoking with an AMAZN smoke tray or tube is an option. There are also some excellent threads on replacing the element. (Yes the non replaceables can be replaced).

If you gut it....   add the AMNPS for cold smoking.....

Or find a heat source and try a Mailbox Mod....

Or you can add a firebox where the mailbox is and use charcoal, propane, electric.... anything to add heat.... smoke....

I'm standing by for a mod to happen.....
