    Cooking ribs for a second time in my dual fuel MB 30.  This time I am setting a cast iron pan on top of the pan that came with the smoker.  I will put the chips in the cast iron pan.  Last time my chips seem to burn fast...will this help them to not burn as fast?  Last time I had to add chips at least 3 times is this normal for a 5-6 hour smoke?  I was successful keeping the temp most of the time at the 225 degree level...I will take pics and send.....found the last ribs which were baby back either not quite cooked or a little to dry and chewy...did not fall off the bone.....any thoughts out there?

    Try a couple of hunks if you have some. They last longer than chips. The cast iron will eventually get just as hot as your chip pan unless you raise it from your heat source.
