Questions for Lang owners

    I have been thinking about getting a Lang and I have a couple of questions.

    Is there a stainless steel model available?

    Is there a problem with rust especially on the firebox?

    Is it important to keep the inside clean all the time?

    If so is it easy to clean?

    Would you buy a Lang again or recommend it to a friend?

    Any other comments you have on your Lang.

    What size Al. I havent seen a lang firebox with the paint gone and rusting. I built my reverse flow offset to a lang and used rustlolium heat paint from a can and its holding up just fine. are you looking for something thats NSF certified. I clean mine after every use with a good scraping inside. From what I have read most dont clean them and just burn them out. I prefer to clean it. I dont like to open it up and see all the fuzzy looking stuff in there. its very easy to clean just messy. You need a tyvek especially when cleaning the grates. The grease will ruin a set of clothes and shoes

    I'm interested in the 36. I don't think I would need anything bigger than that. Thanks for the quick reply Joe.

  6. Big Al I've had my Lang 36 Hybrid Delixe for a few months now and love it. I have used it every weekend but 1. I am turning out the bbq I have ever done on it. I haven't had any paint problems really but I spray my firebox every other cool down with Pam to help keep its sheen look. As far as cleaning I do the steam cleaning process suggested by Ben and I wire brush my grates after every cook. I don't believe they offer the stainless model anymore just the 1/4 thick rolled steel and I would recommend the Lang to anybody!!
