On cold days and nights how long are you going on a  full charcoal basket?  All nighters do you have to worry about pulling the meat to add fuel?

...and i'm talking cold north winters w/ average in the  teens, single digits or colder.  I'll be making one and am just thinking ahead.  Thanks.

I have never had to add more charcoal to mine in cold weather .
You can wrap the drum with welder blanket or moving blankets . That Will help.

That's sounds promising, i assume you've done all nighter smokes in the cold?   I see your UDS has both the flat lid and a dome...Which one do you like better?

Both work fine. I use the dome one when I'm using more then one grate or if I got a big piece of meat on the top rack.
